Configure your firewall with Windows XP operating system may seem difficult, but not so bad if it goes ahead. It will save time to download patch files If your firewall is understood to want to allow Blizzard.com files uploaded to your computer. Roll up your sleeves and let's begin.
WoW uses ports 3724 and 6112 to add files to your World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive. To configure these ports to Windows XP, follow these steps
- Click the Start button on the desktop
- Click the control panel.
- If you use the kind of display of your control panel you have to double click the Security Center option. If you are using Classic View control panel, then skip this step.
- Double-click the Firewall Windows.
- The General tab in the above table should be the default tab when you open the Firewall settings. If not, click General tab now.
- Make sure you press the button that says enabled (Recommended).
- Click the tab Exceptions and click the Add Port button at the bottom of the box.
- In the Name box, type the Blizzard Downloader.
- In the Port box, type the port number 3724. Make sure that the TCP button is clicked and click OK.
- Click Add Port again.
- In the Name box, type the Blizzard Downloader.
- In the Port box, type the port number 6112. Make sure the button and click on the TCP protocol, then press the OK button.
That's all there is to do. It was not so difficult as seems to be?
The few minutes you spend setting up your firewall to download World of Warcraft files much easier.
